Our History

The Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary began in November 1969 when Dolores Hope invited a small but enthusiastic group of women for tea at her Palm Springs home. The goal was to establish a working organization that would assist the medical center in fundraising projects, and provide assistance to patients and hospital personnel.

Eisenhower Medical Center volunteers have contributed more than four million hours of service.

Today, the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary has more than 1,400 members, 780 of whom are adult and junior volunteers, distinguished by their red, white and blue uniforms, These individuals donate service hours in more than 40 Eisenhower Medical Center departments. Through its fundraising efforts, the Auxiliary has donated over $18 million to the medical center.
